When Russell plays Nascar Thunder, he creates his own race cars. His number is usually 69 with the 6 and the 9 similar to what you see on Mark Martin's car. The sponsor is Coca Cola with a really awesome ribbon design with red & white. Russell plays the video games on a regular basis, and has several Modified Championships, and is a legend at tracks including:
  • New Hampshire International Speedway
  • Indianapolis Raceway Park
  • Bristol Motor Speedway
  • Richmond International Raceway
  • North Carolina Speedway
  • Phoenix International Raceway
  • Old Spice Speedway
  • Red Ball Raceway
  • Dodge Raceway Stadium
Russell has also had decent wins at Lowes Motor Speedway, Michigan International Speedway, Dover International Speedway, Darlington Speedway, California Speedway, and others. Most recently, on the game, Russell has won races at Talladega & Daytona in a Production Series Truck Race. He has yet to do that in Nextel Cup.
A lot of NASCAR drivers, especially drivers such as Dale Jr, Martin Truex Jr, Bobby Hamilton Jr and others claim to play the NASCAR video games before every race. It helps them get used to the track they are about to drive, and has often led them to great finishes. In fact, Dale Jr. often takes part in SIM Racing games online, so if you see the driver name DMP-Jr in an 8 or a 3 car/truck, you know who you're racing against, THE MAN HIMSELF.
